Its that time of year again when the sun warms the air and heats the black tar pavement. Perfect time to stuff and fold bundles for composting. I have been composting textiles for many years but it seems that for the last two I have really focused on this process and integrated it into my art. In the past I have just featured it in my collections like this.
But as with any artist, ideas and inspirations evolve and grow. Plus the colors I have been getting are crazy vivid and are speaking to me. In 2012 I developed a pattern called Copper Violet.
This has been one that I loved and is now in the fall /winter 2013 collection as well. Here is a sneak peek of the that collection which includes scarves, ponchos, a shawl and leg warmers. The team behind the looks are Tomaz Karwowski (photography) , Camillia Lawton (mua), and Mia Allen (model) I love working with Tomaz and this will be the second lookbook he has shot. The looks will go live in September.
Below are images of the process in making “Copper Violet”
As you can see the colors and pattern vary slightly. This makes every piece one of a kind.
