Garden of Colors

Summer is finally here in the Pacific Northwest.  Of course we still have rain mixed with beautiful sunny hot days but soon everything with dry out.  Until then my garden is fluffy and alive with green leaves and blooming buds.  I have already started to harvest my roses for dyeing

Daydream

Spring is in the air and here in the Pacific Northwest that means rain followed by beautiful warm sunny days.  These types of days are perfect for daydreaming.  At the R A W Textiles studio I have been preparing to share my newest collection for Spring and Summer with you. 

From the Inside Out

This summer I am thrilled to be part of an exhibit at Jacoby Art Center with four other fiber artist that work with natural dyes and processes.  The show is titled “From the Inside Out”.  My contribution to the show will be part of a series that I have started

Process, Colors, and Results

Its that time of year again when the sun warms the air and heats the black tar pavement.  Perfect time to stuff and fold bundles for composting.  I have been composting textiles for many years but it seems that for the last two I have really focused on this process

Natures Oven

It seems that every year about this time heat waves across the country.  Most people run inside and hide in an air-conditioned room or go to the beach and soak the sun for its vital vitamin D.  I take this time each year to compost as much as I can

Composting results

Well I have great news and images to share of my latest composting batch.  I started this batch on April 20th and it has been cooking ever since.  I decide to construct a greenhouse like cooker to put the bundles in since the temp. in Portland is not too warm
